What this means
A pilot study of age-related characteristics of self-assessment of executive control components and emotional regulation of behavior was conducted in a sample of elderly women, GrE (67,3±5,8 years) attending classes at the Faculty of People's Studies of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) in comparison with female students of the Faculty of Humanities of NSTU, GrS (19,1±1,4 years). It was found that GrE is characterized by higher levels of executive skills and emotional intelligence with lower values of chronic stress compared to GrS.

Abstract
A pilot study of age-related characteristics of self-assessment of executive control components and emotional regulation of behavior was conducted in a sample of elderly women, GrE (67,3±5,8 years) attending classes at the Faculty of People's Studies of the Novosibirsk State Technical University (NSTU) in comparison with female students of the Faculty of Humanities of NSTU, GrS (19,1±1,4 years). It was found that GrE is characterized by higher levels of executive skills and emotional intelligence with lower values of chronic stress compared to GrS. The results of the correlation analysis indicate different age-related forms of organization of the components of executive control and emotional regulation of behavior. GrЕ is characterized by their expansion compared to GrS, including relationships between executive components such as «priority planning» and «metacognition» and indicators of «social overload» and «the role of emotions in decision making», reflecting self-assessment of chronic stress and emotional intelligence. However, no such relationships are found with the «inhibition» component.
